Uncommon Components started in 2026 to put some colour back on Australian bikes. We do it two ways: tracking down the uncommon parts most shops never carry, from independent makers around the world, and making our own when the part we want doesn't exist yet.
Who we are.
Started with a dull bike.
2026. We wanted more colour.
Australian bikes can be a grey business: black stem, black post, black bolts, all the character optioned out. We started Uncommon Components in 2026 because we wanted the opposite: a bit of colour, a bit of life, parts you actually notice.
Most of what we were after was scattered across the world: a copper top cap from one small machinist, anodised bolts from another, the kind of thing the big catalogues skip. So we went and found the best of it, and brought it under one roof.
When the part we wanted didn't exist, we made it. That's the other half of what we do now: our own uncommon components, designed here and made in small runs. Found or made, the test is the same: it has to bring something to the bike.

Colour is the point.
A bike should have some life in it. Every part we find or make is here to put it there.
Uncommon, on purpose.
Found or made, if everyone already has one we're not interested. Distinctive on the street is the whole idea.
From anywhere that's good.
The best small makers are scattered across the globe. We track them down, and fill the gaps with our own.
Say it straight.
Name the part, state the spec, let it do the talking. No adjectives doing a part's job.
